Calco is a new collaboration between Triangle Wines and the De Martino family, to make small batches wines from specially selected plots in the cool Pacific influenced Limarí Valley. This Chardonnay has concentrated citrus and stone fruit with a saline note and a long refreshing mineral finish.
Region: Limarí Valley, Chile
Tasting notes/pairing options: Fresh aromas of citrus and stone fruit intermingle with a saline note. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and concentrated fruit, balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is long and mineral.

The grapes were destemmed and pressed gently to avoid extracting bitter phenols. The juice was left to settle and then put into used 228-litre French oak barrels where the alcoholic fermentation took place with natural yeasts at temperatures ranging between 18°C and 22°C. Bâtonnage was kept to a minimum and the wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 12 months in neutral oak barrels before bottling.
We are a close family business and are currently in our second generation. We are based on our natural lavender farm, Yorkshire Lavender in the North Yorkshire countryside.
So why wine?
With a member of our staff, Timi, a trained sommelier; it seemed crazy to let that enthusiasm and experience go to waste.
Wine starts in the ground! Just like lavender the correct soil, conditions and care are vital to grow excellent grapes to make exceptional wine.
Our commitment to our natural lavender farm along with Timi’s enthusiastic expertise has led to a developing interest in natural, organic, bio-dynamic wines.
